A serious rollover car accident in Tennessee killed one individual and caused severe injuries in another. The injured party was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. The individual who passed away was declared dead at the scene of the crash.

Maury County Fire Department emergency responders arrived at the scene at 9:45 p.m. at Theta Pike, which is located in a rural part of the county. They found a red pickup truck overturned. The doors of the truck had to be removed to extricate the vehicle’s driver and passenger; both were unconscious when emergency responders arrived. The truck was the only vehicle involved in the accident.

According to media reports, this is the seventh fatal accident of 2020 in Maury County. There have been a total of 53 out of 1,062 motor vehicle accidents that caused serious injuries in the county in the same year. Neighboring counties, Marshall and Lawrence, reported 94 and 332 collisions, respectively. Across the state, more than 80,000 accidents had occurred as of August 2020.

Hundreds of people are seriously injured in Tennessee due to traffic accidents each year, and many of these accidents involve semi-trucks. It is estimated that over 400,000 tractor-trailer accidents occur each year in the United States. Driver negligence could lead to devastating semi-truck accident injuries that may result in costly medical bills and lost wages during recovery. A personal injury lawyer might be able to help semi-truck accident victims by filing a civil suit. If the truck driver was negligent and caused the accident, monetary damages may be awarded. This might help reduce stress on the injured parties as they recover from the incident.
