Memphis Bar Association Announces 2010 Officers & Board of Directors, Marc Reisman Returns as Board Member
The Memphis Bar Association Annual Meeting was held Thursday at The Peabody Hotel. At the event, Ricky E. Wilkins of the Law Offices of Ricky E. Wilkins officially took reign as the 2010 MBA President. John Cannon of Shuttleworth Williams, PLLC, and Gary K. Smith of Apperson Crump & Maxwell, PLC, automatically succeed to the positions of Vice President and Treasurer, respectively. Linda Warren Seely of Memphis Area Legal Services Inc. was announced as the 2010 Secretary.

Section Representatives to the MBA in 2010 will be Steve Shields, Jennifer Sisson and Laurel Williams.
Also at the meeting, Chief Justice Janice M. Holder accepted the W.J. Michael Cody Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award from Memphis Area Legal Services, Inc., on behalf of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Amy Webb Martin of The Landers Firm and Bobby F. Martin, Jr. of The Cochran Firm were jointly honored with the Sam A. Myar, Jr. Memorial Award as young attorneys who have rendered outstanding personal service to the Memphis & Shelby County legal profession and community. The award is presented annually at the Annual Meeting.
Blanchard E. Tual of Tual Graves, PLLC, was honored with the Judge Jerome Turner Lawyer’s Lawyer Award. The award is presented annually to an MBA member who practiced law for more than 15 years and who during that time, has exemplified the aims and aspirations embodied in the Guidelines for Professional Courtesy and Conduct. In 2000, the award was renamed in honor of Judge Jerome Turner, during whose presidency of the MBA the Guidelines were developed.
