Jeff then practiced with a 500 person law firm in Dallas, Texas before returning to Memphis, Tennessee in 1993 to focus on catastrophic injury and individual rights law. To this day, he remains licensed in both Tennessee and Texas.

He is a member of the National Trial Lawyers Association, the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, the Memphis Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
