Memphis Medication Error Attorneys

Medicine can be extremely harmful if administered incorrectly. If you or a loved one has suffered because of a medication error, the attorneys at Rosenblum & Reisman can help. We have more than 20 years of experience handling medical malpractice cases in Memphis and throughout Tennessee.

Our Memphis medication error lawyers represent people who have suffered from medication mistakes at the pharmacy, in the doctor's office, at the hospital, at a nursing home, in a mental health facility or at a prison. Wherever the mistake occurred, we will find the negligent party and hold him or her accountable.

Types Of Medication Errors

There are many types of medication errors. The error may be the result of the doctor writing the wrong information on the prescription, or even writing illegibly. The error may be the result of the pharmacist misreading the prescription or filling the wrong prescription. In a hospital, nursing home or other facility, the error may be caused by a nurse providing one patient another patient's pills.

These errors may result in the patient getting the wrong medication and suffering from complications, getting dosages of medication that are too large and overdosing, or getting dosages that are too small that fail to treat the underlying medical condition.

Some medication errors involve a doctor failing to acknowledge allergy information and providing medication that the patient is allergic to, leading to an allergic reaction. Similarly, many different types of medication do not mix. If a doctor prescribes medicine without determining what other medications the patient is on, and there is a negative drug interaction, the doctor should be held accountable.
